An animal-loving boy became a vet and ended up your friendly guide.

I was born and raised in Hiroshima, except for six years when I was at the Veterinary College in Miyazaki. I was an equestrian and enjoyed a horse-full life there. And I’ve worked at Hiroshima City Hall as a vet. The city holds a Peace Memorial Ceremony, inviting many delegates from around the world annually. Throughout my 40-year career as a city official, I accompanied those guests during their stay in Hiroshima. So, besides my profession, I became a Peace Park Guide, a Miyajima Guide, and a licensed guide interpreter of Hiroshima Prefecture. My mother, who runs a beauty salon, is one of the atomic bomb survivors. And I started looking for ways to convey her message to future generations. A radio drama, modeled after my mother and me, was broadcast nationwide and won a grand prize in 2016. Let me show you the history and local culture of Hiroshima.
