I was born in Hiroshima and have lived here for almost fifty years. I work as a freelance translator (mainly for tourism, Japanese introductions, videos, and websites). Since I was a college student, I have enjoyed traveling in Japan and abroad. I’m also currently very interested in folk crafts. My own best trips have been those where I could catch a glimpse of the lives of locals. I decided to become a guide because I wanted visitors to see the daily life of Japan. There are many places I like in Hiroshima, especially Miyajima and the northern part of the prefecture (Akiota-cho and Kitahiroshima-cho), which I often visit with my family. The appeal of Hiroshima is the warmth of its people and the variety of nature, including mountains, sea, islands, and rivers. I would like my guests to see the local festivals and Kagura folk dance when the timing is right.
