My Travel Buddy(Hiroshima's Friendly Local Interpreter Guide)

広島在住の”友達のような”通訳観光ガイド

I want to tell foreign tourists not only about Miyajima and Peace Memorial Park, but also about the various charms of the city of Hiroshima! We are not traditional guides who lead foreign visitors to Japan by waving flags, but we are guides who walk around the streets together like friends and have fun getting a feel for Hiroshima’s locals.

Ginjo Sake Tour in Hiroshima with Sommelier of Sake

Hiroshima is known as the birthplace of ginjo sake. Along with Nada in Hyogo and Fushimi in Kyoto, Saijo in Hiroshima is known as one of the three major brewing regions in Japan. This tour allows inbound tourists who are interested in sake to enjoy the historical streets of Japan and delicious local sake and cuisine. This tour is accompanied by an interpreter-guide with a sake tasting qualification called a sake master (or SAKE Diploma). Enjoy a sake brewery tour while talking about sake with a sake master guide.

Sakagura-dori in Saijo, one of Japan’s three major brewing areas, is within walking distance of seven sake breweries that still brew sake today. While strolling through the historical streets, we will go around the sake breweries. You can taste the sake at each sake brewery and enjoy the difference of sake from each brewery.

<Sake Brewery ② Takehara Townscape Preservation Area> After Saijo Sake Brewery Street, we will visit the Takehara Townscape Preservation Area. Takehara is a town that prospered in salt production and sake brewing in the Edo period, and is called Little Kyoto of Aki. There are two sake breweries in the Townscape Preservation District. Walk through the beautiful streets and visit sake breweries.
